Description
This house on Arch Street is famous for allegedly being home to seamstress Betsy Ross, the creator of the first American flag, several centuries ago. In fact, there is no reliable evidence that Betsy Ross lived in this house, although it is well known that she lived in one of the houses on Arch Street. There is also no reliable evidence that it was Betsy Ross who sewed the first American flag. But despite this, the house on Arch Street is one of Philadelphia's most visited tourist sites.
