The history of the Gourmet Restaurant begins in 1985 when Edward Kaminski opened the first restaurant on Cicero & Fullerton in Chicago.
Twelve years later, in 1997, Edward decided to change the location of his restaurant and here we are now at 5619 W Lawrence Ave in Chicago.
Our founder's goal was simple.
Have a restaurant serving delicious Polish food prepared from scratch at daily prices, as well as create a place where guests of all ages will be able to learn about unique tastes and Polish culture together.
What came to life was a truly unique culinary experience — authentic Polish flavors with family cuisine.
This goal was shared by two generations, when Edward's daughter, Renata, took over the reins and began to make some changes, but
